One of the aspects of many religions that distrubs me considerably is "end time" theory or eschatology, i.e.,
that at some future point in our history there will be a major apocalypse, disaster or war which will mark the end of time as we know it. Fundamental in this belief is the
rise of the "Antichrist", a deceiver of great evil who will rise to power spawning worldwide desruction and repression on a scale never seen before.
